Interacting with nature and wildlife has been in my blood from an early age, especially getting out into the countryside to see birds. Yes, I’ve been a bird watcher for many years and this has been a major influence in my art work. Even from an early age I would spend hours trying to learn how to draw these amazing creatures. As a youngster I was also inspired by the great bird artists such as Basil Ede, Charles Tunnicliffe and Peter Scott in particular. Bird watching is still an important part of my life, and virtually every week you’ll find me out in the countryside walking in the fresh air, enjoying nature and taking photographs of birds, other animals, trees, other plants, fungi and just about anything that will form the basis of my next series of paintings and drawings.
