Description
About this Artwork: I have been making visits to the Lake District, Cumbria UK for many years both for walking and painting holidays. For me this is a very special place and if you’ve never been there you really ought to make it a priority – its lovely. The fells have a mysterious rugged beauty that perfectly blend together the elements; the geology, the variety in its foliage, the very changeable big skies and the natural light seem to interact to accentuate its diverse colours and textures. Ennerdale Fell is one of the most beautiful of the Cumbrian fells and certainly one of my favourites. Taken with my trusty Canon camera in February 2013, I used a series of photos to develop this scene into a painting to capture the essence of my visit. This original painting by Martin Romanovsky uses Winsor & Newton watercolour pigments on 180 gms Chiltern Wove watercolour paper.
