TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Photographs
I work from both traditional photographs and digital images. Where required, these will be returned in exactly the same condition in which I recieve them. Please see my webpage on ‘Commissions’ for tips about selecting images for use in commissioned artwork. Please note that to comply with copyright laws, by commissioning a piece of artwork you are agreeing that you either own the publishing rights or where appropriate, have sought direct permission from the photographer or person that owns the image and its publishing rights under copyright law.
Ordering
Please use the online order form that can be found as a sub-menu of the ‘Original Artwork Commissions’ webpage. Please fill in all fields of the order form carefully, ensuring that you provide full details about the piece of work that you wish to commission including subject, specific details like size, type of media to be used, predominant colours and mood if appropriate, type of surface, any particular deadline requirements and any general informaton that could affect the successful production of the piece within the desired timescale.
Timescale
The artwork I create can take many hours; anything from about 30 hrs hence you should allow at least a week per piece of artwork. This will be variable depending my workload at that time. If you require an artwork for a special occasion it is therefore good practice to place your commission about 4 weeks prior to delivery to ensure that the portrait is ready to meet your deadline. I will you contact you prior to starting your piece to confirm details and confirm a delivery date.
Payment
Please choose the size you wish to order from the price guide which also shows the amount of deposit required. Deposits will be requested on agreement of the terms of the commission. If you wish to cancel your order before I have begun the commisioned piece, a full refund will be returned to you. On receipt of deposit, I will advise on the production time and expected delivery date. If you request cancellation after the commission has been started and within the agreed delivery schedule, a cancellation fee of 30% of the total agreed price will be incurred.
On approval of a proof of your commissioned artwork, I will invoice you for the remaining balance and once paid, the artwork will be dispatched to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery or a service of your choosing. If, for any reason you are unhappy with the proof, I will make any reasonable adjustments.
Postage
Prices are exclusive of postage and all portraits will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery service.
In the unlikely event your portrait gets damaged in the postal system please contact me immediately so we can discuss potential solutions including repairs or a replacement. Please retain all packaging.
Copyright
I reserve copyright on all artwork drawn from photographs on the understanding that permission has been granted from the photographer, where appropriate. I reserve the right to reproduce all artwork for prints to be sold or used for promotional and advertising purposes without your permission, unless agreed otherwise.
