Greater Spotted Woodpecker:  Inspired as a boy by the bird artist Basil Ede, I wanted to capture some or the techniques he uses to reproduce my own tribute to his work.  Basil Ede predominantly works in Gouache but here I attempt a similar subject in watercolor and pen and ink.  Both the original watercolour and a series of limited edition prints personally signed by the artist is available through the online shop on this website.
